Sheik Hammoudi: The two outstanding martyrs were in a project to build Iraq
Conference sponsor Sheik Dr. Hammam Hammoudi reviewed the march of the two martyrs, Mr. Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr and Mr. Mohammed Baqir Al-Hakim, their efforts and their glorious march in supporting national unity, confronting dictatorship and working to build Iraq.
Sheik Hammoudi said in his speech during the Al-Baqerin International Conference that "the two outstanding martyrs were in one project side by side and from the beginning of their acquaintance and companionship, and they did not disperse, and the relationship between them was indicative of the depth of love and cohesion and integration through words and positions," pointing out that "the two martyrs faced together attempts to distance the nation from its identity, history, religion and philosophy, so the professor, along with his useful support, took the initiative to confront this challenge with a philosophical intellectual epic and a social and cultural movement to hold the nation to its principles and pride in its identity, and they succeeded in this with their patients, companions and students, as well as facing the Baath Party and its attempts to obliterate the Husseinian rituals, target the scientific reference and liquidate its symbols.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives added, "We are living in a post-victory phase, which was achieved thanks to the blessed fatwa of the supreme authority, represented by Imam Al-Sistani, and thanks to the blood and gifts of the sons of the authority and the marchers on the path of the Baqir martyrs and the rest of our martyred martyrs." He stressed the importance of "the post-victory phase to be completely different from what was before it in terms of government performance the way the government was formed, political and parliamentary movement, and social movement, in a way that is commensurate with the greatness of the victory, the location of Iraq, and the specificity and major goals that the Baqir martyrs set for us."
