Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations: Baghdad International Dialogue promotes understanding and increases the chances of stability
The Director of the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, Dr. Abbas Radi Al-Ameri, received on Thursday the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General in Iraq, Mr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, where they discussed the latest political developments on the Iraqi and regional arenas, and ways to promote stability and constructive dialogue in the region.
During the meeting, the Director of the Institute extended an official invitation to the Special Representative to attend the seventh Baghdad International Dialogue Conference and deliver a speech at the opening session, emphasizing the importance of the UN's role in supporting dialogue efforts and promoting understanding between different parties.
For his part, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations appreciated the active role played by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue in promoting national and regional dialogue, stressing the importance of the Baghdad Dialogue Conference as a platform that brings together elites and decision-makers to discuss fateful issues and the role of the elite in assuming their responsibilities towards the future of the country and the region.
