Nechirvan Barzani at the seventh Baghdad International Dialogue Conference: Iraq's stability cannot be separated from the region
Kurdistan Regional President Nechirvan Barzani announced on Saturday the region's full support for the vital development road project in Iraq, describing it as a historic step.
Speaking at the seventh edition of the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, Barzani said: "We in the Kurdistan Region have always believed that political and economic stability for the whole of Iraq is a common national interest, and that real development cannot be achieved without integration between Baghdad and Erbil, as well as between Iraq and its surroundings in the region and the world."
"From this perspective, we affirm our full support for this great development road project, and we look forward to it becoming a model of cooperation and construction between all regions and components of the country, from Zakho to Faw, as well as between Iraq and its regional and international partners," he added.
"Iraq's stability cannot be separated from the region," he said, noting that the diversity of Iraqi society is a strength and wealth.
