UN representative: Iraq is at a critical juncture and continues to support stabilization

During his speech at the seventh Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, the UN Secretary-General's representative in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, emphasized that Iraq and the Middle East region are going through a critical stage that requires concerted efforts to promote security and stability.

Al-Hassan noted that Iraq is determined to move forward in supporting regional stability, capitalizing on its long history of building constructive dialogue, adding that the country needs a national consensus that unites all parties under the umbrella of Iraq's supreme interest.

Al-Hassan praised Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Sudani's vision to develop services and promote security and stability, stressing that the UN will continue to support Iraq and will remain an active partner in its march towards stability and development.

"Iraq is determined to continue to support stability, security and national unity," he said, noting that "Iraq needs constructive dialogue based on respect for opinion, consolidating Iraqis' love for their homeland, and focusing on the future and building a strong, secure and stable Iraq."

He added that "Iraq, with its long history, needs constructive dialogue that meets under one point, which is the interest of Iraq," noting that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Sudani has a clear vision in developing services and enhancing security and stability.
"The UN supports Iraq and will continue to support it," he said.
