Swiss ambassador: Iraq is an important regional player and a promising investment partner
The Swiss Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hone, emphasized that his country considers Iraq an "important regional player" and seeks to be an active element in local investments, by enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
"There are great efforts made by Prime Minister Mohammed Shi'a Al-Sudani in restoring relations between Baghdad and Geneva, which opened the way for new investment opportunities," Hon said during his participation in the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference on Sunday.
"The Swiss government recognizes the importance of Iraq in the region, which is why Swiss companies seek to be part of investment projects in Iraq," he said, adding that there is "an Iraqi community in Switzerland that wants to return to their homeland to restore their interests, which the Swiss government is working to facilitate."
The Swiss ambassador stressed that his country "sees Iraq as an important economic partner and aspires to enhance investment cooperation to serve the common interests of the two countries."
