Director of the New Lines Institute: The Baghdad International Dialogue is an opportunity to build regional consensus
The seventh Baghdad International Dialogue Conference organized by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue represents an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and a number of influential countries, including the United States, Europe and Asia, according to Carolyn Rose, director at the New Lines Research Institute, noting that the event contributes to building a political and intellectual momentum that enables the exchange of visions and the formation of new consensuses in regional and international policies.
Rose explained that the conference provides an effective platform to discuss regional challenges and shared opportunities, especially the situation in Syria and its impact on Iraqi-Syrian relations, as well as China's Belt and Road Initiative and its role in supporting development efforts in Iraq.
The exchange of experiences and views at such conferences can produce innovative and comprehensive solutions to the political and economic challenges facing Iraq and the region, she said, stressing the importance of continuing such events in order to solidify regional and international cooperation.
