Daniel Pletka: Baghdad International Dialogue reflects Iraq's diversity and promotes dialog
During her participation in the Baghdad International Dialogue conference, Danielle Pletka, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), spoke in a video interview posted on the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue's YouTube channel about Iraq's current challenges, chief among them stabilizing the political system and ensuring free and fair elections.
Pletka emphasized the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq and the United States, noting the need to reduce Iranian influence in order to serve the independence of Iraqi decision-making and balance its international relations.
She expressed her happiness to see democratically elected leaders representing the diversity of the Iraqi people speaking openly and frankly at the conference, praising the openness of the discussions that reflect the reality and plurality of Iraqi society.
She stressed the importance of including diverse perspectives to ensure that the conference reflects the full spectrum of the Iraqi people, commending the efforts of the conference organizers in creating an inclusive space for constructive dialogue.
