The book "Power Differential" by Dr. Abbas Radi Al-Amiri and Dr. Munim Saahi Al-Omar

The Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, in cooperation with Adnan House and Library for Printing, Publishing and Distribution, recently published the book "Power Differential" by Dr. Abbas Radi Al-Amiri, Director of the Institute, and Dr. Munim Sahee Al-Omar, as one of the academic works specialized in the theories of international relations and an academic reference for graduate studies.

The book is 180 pages long and deals with an advanced concept of the distribution of power in the international system. Dr. Al-Ameri introduces the concept of "power differential" as a theoretical development that goes beyond the traditional "balance of power" model by focusing on the quality rather than quantity of the elements of power and the ability of states to qualitatively influence the global system, even if they are not superpowers.

He points out that the "power differential" is not based on total deterrence or traditional polar alignments, but rather on the possession of a unique resource or an influential technological or economic capability that can change the ranking of states in the ladder of influence. He explains that an imbalance of this differential does not necessarily lead to war, but may result in quiet shifts in the global balance of power.

The book focuses on analyzing the current shifts in the structure of the international system and provides an in-depth theoretical view of the new politics of balance, reviewing the concept of power differential and its trends in strategics, power differential and its relation to security and the macro theory of security, among other important topics.
