Preparatory Committee Approves Preliminary Preparation Steps for the 8th Baghdad International Dialog Conference to be held in April 2026
The Preparatory Committee for the 8th Baghdad International Dialog Conference held its regular meeting to follow up on the preparations for the conference scheduled for April 2026.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the logistical and organizational preparation requirements was conducted, and the proposed plans were reviewed to ensure the success of the next edition in line with the status of the conference and its role in promoting national and regional discussions on the future of Iraq.
The committee discussed the title of the proposed eighth edition, which focuses on consolidating stability, strengthening governance, and developing regional and international partnerships, as essential pillars for Iraq to move towards a more politically and economically established stage. A number of alternatives reflecting the current national and regional transformations were deliberated.
The committee also discussed the nature of the invitations and the agenda of the axes, as it was agreed to expand the circle of participants to include international government officials.
The conference themes will include economic reform, good governance, regional appeasement policies, and energy security, in addition to special sessions dedicated to discussing Iraq's role in its Arab and international environment.
