Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi in the 8th Baghdad Dialog announces the continuation of the fight against corruption and the preparation of one million residential plots of land for citizens

Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on Friday announced the continuation of the fight against corruption and the preparation of one million residential plots of land for citizens, noting that the salaries of employees are secured.

And we will present a budget that represents a map of the economic future of Iraq," he said, pointing out that "next year's budget will focus on the electricity sector in production, distribution and transportation, and expansion of solar energy employment."

And he added that "we have made reforms in dealing with domestic fuel consumption according to a new economic model that achieves a financial abundance of 17.8 trillion dinars over the course of a whole year," noting that "all political forces are fully agreed to proceed with the confinement of weapons in the hands of the state, and the mechanisms for handing over weapons and ending this situation completely are underway."

Al-Zaidi explained that "there are no intentions or prospects for any military clash, and we will not allow the enemies of Iraq to exploit any opportunity," stressing that "there is no retreat from the fight against corruption and the government enjoys broad support."

And he continued that "the salaries of employees and government payments are secured, and they are proceeding with a plan to cover the coming years," noting that "work is underway to expand oil exports through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, and there is work to export through Baniyas and Aqaba, and increase Iraq's export share through OPEC, and we are also seeking to reach 8-10 million barrels per day within 6 years."

And the Prime Minister pointed out that "Iraq fought the terrorist Daesh on behalf of the region and the world, and it is fair that it receives an export quota for crude oil equivalent to the size of its population and oil storage," noting that "we do not think about building a government as much as we think about building the state and the economy, and Iraq has opportunities, assets and will qualify it to overcome the challenges, I committed myself not to run for a second term, and our reform programs will reap the results of future governments."

And between Zaidi that "the development fund will be with a capital of 100 billion dollars, and we will adopt the contribution of the Central Bank and the public subscription, in addition to the contribution of international and regional financial institutions," explaining that "if we do not support the private sector, there will be no development, and we seek to put mechanisms that encourage migration from the public to the private sector."

And on the regional issue, Al-Zaidi pointed out that "we supported the transformation of Iraq's role from an arena for conflict to a bridge for negotiation and understanding, and the weight of our country is influential and decisive in the stability of the region."

And he added that "the project of one million residential plots will in fact be very soon, and we are targeting citizens who do not own any real estate or residential land, and the last citizen will receive his plot of land within the project of one million residential plots in less than 3 years."

And pointed out that "the presence of weapons outside the framework of the state will constitute an environment repelling investment, and this is rejected because it is not in the interest of Iraqis," noting that "the National Investment Commission will announce opportunities in residential plots, according to a modern design, taking into account future expansion."

He added: "We directed us to develop a plan to provide agricultural plots for agricultural engineers and veterinarians, close to transport routes, and we will provide them with loans according to a well-studied economic model," stressing that "tax revenues will be collected in advance for import with the opening of the transfer, which will enter revenue for the state, and the amounts can be recovered if the import process is not completed."

And he explained that "we reduced customs duties on some goods to facilitate the right path to pay revenue to the state in front of traders," noting that "the method of subsequent scrutiny is no longer appropriate, and the basis of corruption is excessive pricing for the clauses of contracts and projects, so we adopted pre-audit and control the moderation of prices before signing contracts."

And pointed out that "Iraq is an important country in the region, and cannot break with its Arab and regional surroundings, and we have felt a strong desire to open to Iraq," noting that "Iraq is heading to be the most stable and strong country in development and economy."
