Artificial Intelligence Strategies to Enhance Government Performance in Iraq

Dr. Sally Saad Mohammed of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the Iraqi University reviews the research published in the double issue (77-78) of the Journal of Thought Dialogue issued by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue on strategies for employing artificial intelligence to enhance government performance in Iraq, published in the double issue (77-78) of the Journal of Thought Dialogue issued by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue.

It highlights the great potential that AI has in developing government services and raising the efficiency of institutions, despite the technical, organizational and human challenges that hinder its application in the current Iraqi environment. It also addresses the government's readiness to adopt this technology and assesses the reality of its use in various sectors.

The researcher identifies a number of obstacles to the effective adoption of AI, including the lack of digital infrastructure, the absence of clear legal frameworks, weak human competencies, as well as political and administrative challenges that affect the digital transformation process.

The study concludes with a set of recommendations, most notably developing supportive legislation, investing in human capacity building, and modernizing the technological infrastructure, stressing that the adoption of AI can become a pivotal tool for enhancing transparency, fighting corruption, and advancing national development in Iraq.
